Crystals + Business

Since starting Arwoken, I have come across some amazing and inspiring entrepreneurs. These women have created their dream jobs, all with the aim of helping others through their own unique passions.

One thing I discovered was that we all shared a mutual love and respect for crystals. They say that an awakened soul recognises truth without confirmation and I feel very honoured to have such beautiful souls contributing to this blog. Below you will meet four inspirational women following their passions in life and learn how they have connected with crystals personally and professionally.

The Cosmetic Acupuncture Clinic - Dr. Hannah Watson

Tell us about yourself and your business:
My name is Hannah Watson and I am a Doctor of Chinese Medicine (acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine) and the founder of The Cosmetic Acupuncture ClinicI chose to be a practitioner of Chinese medicine because it entwines my great passions for natural health, nutrition, facilitating change, education and a respectful belief that somehow everything in life is related and relevant.

The Cosmetic Acupuncture Clinic is a natural, organic beauty treatment, with precise focus and real, visible results. Coming from a holistic approach, treatments not only include a cosmetic treatment but acupuncture that may be used to address physical or emotional components of health. This unique blend offers a multi-levelled treatment that feels relaxing and offers tangible change in all aspects of one's health. The result is pure bliss; harmonious energy flow and drastic facial rejuvenation.

How have you incorporated crystals into your work and personal life?

At The Cosmetic Acupuncture Clinic, every treatment includes crystals. I use clear quartz to prepare the space. I have a collection of crystals in the clinic that I will be intuitively drawn to that are include in the treatment. These are placed on or nearby the client during their treatment. I feel that they enhance the experience, and help in fulfilling the treatment aims.

I also use beautiful, hand-carved crystal tools in my cosmetic acupuncture treatments. These are Facial Rollers or Facial Gua Sha tools, made from natural Jade or Rose Quartz. I am drawn to use one more than the other with each client. These tools offer benefits from facial toning, collagen influx, detoxification and cellular renewal to eliminating puffy eyes, dark circles and sculpting cheekbones. These have been used for thousands of years by the Empress' of China for assistance with natural anti-ageing.

In my personal life, I wear clear quartz around my neck for clarity and a clear mind. I often have one or two crystals in my pockets, and sleep with one under my pillow or beside my bed. I also include them in meditations, and use clear quartz like a wand to clear my energy or if I am feeling stuck. I adore the monthly ritual of the full moon to cleanse the crystals and set new intentions with them. It's like a monthly spring clean!

What's your favourite crystal and why?

I adore Rose Quartz, I feel great attention to my heart when I have it around me. I often sleep with it under my pillow to allow it to promote self love when I am asleep and can receive optimal healing. I wear clear quartz around my neck for clarity of thought, as I feel it sharpens my mind, however, the beautiful pink of the Rose Quartz would have to be my favourite in personal use and in its inclusion in cosmetic acupuncture treatments.

Anything else you would like to share?

I love using crystals in both my business and my personal life. I feel that these natural creations hold within them a very sacred energy, that emanates out to all those around it. Their use in my personal and business life have helped me create changes I never thought possible before.

The Truest You - Bridget Murphy

Tell us about yourself and your business:

I’m a Holistic Health coach, teacher and lover of the small things in life. I grew up in the country, I’m a morning person and I love wearing activewear. I’m an inquisitive and very curious person so I enjoy learning, exploring new places and hearing people’s life stories. I value time with family, my partner and close friends, do everything from a place of integrity and work on living a life that’s true to myself each and every day.

In my mid-twenties I became really unwell and went through the most challenging years of my life. I became a shell of myself and lost my spark. Prior to this I was a high-achiever, rarely put myself first, was a perfectionist, had very high expectations of myself, people-pleased and worked to keep up and follow the traditional path of success. I felt guilty resting, never felt like I was every doing enough or on top of things and thought that the busier I was, the better. Now that I’m on top of my health issues and have come so far, I realise that I wasn’t doing myself any favours having these beliefs and behaviours.

This is why The Truest You was born; to channel my passion, to help others become the best version of themselves and to make sure that they don’t wait to reach complete overwhelm or breaking point before they start prioritising themselves and their health.

I offer Initial and Follow-up consultations online and face-to-face from my office in South Yarra, Melbourne. I also offer a three-hour Wellness Retreat for those wanting to press pause on their day, dive straight in, enjoy wholesome snacks and walk away with a clear action plan to bring about lasting change.

How have you incorporated crystals in your work or personal life?

I am no crystal expert but my love of crystals began earlier this year after having a Rose Quartz on my bedside table that I got in Byron Bay. For my 30th birthday my parents were asking what I wanted as a gift and I didn’t want to get something just for the sake of it. I thought crystals would be a great idea as then they could also be a keepsake. I chose the crystals myself and I was really overwhelmed with the choices! I went back to the same shop several times until what I’d chosen felt right.

I usually have some small crystals in my handbag. At the moment, I have Peacock Ore, a Rose Quartz heart, Clear Quartz and Hematite. These serve as reminders and help to bring a sense of love, compassion and joy to myself and others. They also help me to continue to stay true to myself and keep me grounded in the present moment. I have Black Tourmaline near the entrance to our apartment to deflect negative energies. Citrine and Pyrite are usually close by or on my desk when I work from home to keep my creativity flowing, help make my goals and dreams a reality, create abundance and bring good luck. I also have a big Amethyst cluster in our guest room, I find it really calming and hope that it helps guests sleep well. On my bedside table are a Clear and Rose Quartz, an Aura Quartz and half of an agate geode that I bought and gave the other half to my partner.

I always put my crystals out to recharge when there’s a Full Moon and use Palo Santo to cleanse them at least once a week.

What’s your favourite crystal and why?

I go through different phases but if I had to choose one right now it would be Clear Quartz. I feel a pull towards it and shouted myself my big cluster for my 30th. I feel it’s really calming, gives me clarity, encourages me to reflect on how far I’ve come and helps me let go of what’s weighing me down. I like to have it next to me when I journal or reflect and feel like it’s a great all-rounder.

Luxe on Chester & Botanicals by Luxe - Bec Connolly

Tell us about yourself and your business:

Luxe on Chester was created in early 2015, soon after the birth of our first son, Oliver. Luxe was created by my husband Nato and myself to fulfil my dream of being a stay at home mum while also continuing to work in the field that I am so passionate about.

I have been a skin and beauty therapist since 2005 and I just adore the work I do, it is so rewarding to be able to educate and help people with their skin.

We were blessed with our second son, Jack, in 2017 which pushed me even more to grow the business and still be able to stay at home with the boys.

Luxe on Chester is all about empowering women (and men) through self love and their skin, which is where Botanicals by Luxe comes in. I had always wanted to create my own professional skincare range and finally after 12 months of research, I found the perfect manufacturer and cosmetic scientist to work with to bring this dream to fruition. Botanicals by Luxe is formulated by me, and manufactured in Victoria, Australia. The range is professional, small batch, vegan, results driven and has a “Science meets Nature” approach.

How have you incorporated crystals in your work or personal life?

I was so wrapped to come across Arwoken on Instagram, I love supporting local and small businesses, and I wanted to learn more about crystals, so I purchased the Master Manifester box.

I have them all with me on my work desk, I especially lean towards the Citrine crystal – particularly during product development and when I hit a wall, I love that it promotes calm, success and positivity.

When we were going through intense fertility treatment and heartbreaking miscarriages prior to falling pregnant with Oliver, I carried Rose Quartz in my pocket every day. I was so hopeful that it may help me through these times in some little way. It is full of love, calm and self worth – things that I really needed in bulk at that stage!

What’s your favourite crystal and why?

Rose Quartz is still my favourite crystal for the above reasons, I often recommend it to friends, family and clients when they need that extra love and positivity in their lives. It sure helped me.

I also love the Little Spirit kids crystal bags, and so do my boys! We read the meanings out together and they keep them next to their beds. Such gorgeous and precious crystals to support children of all ages, I love that.

Built From The Fire - Amanda Dutson

Tell us about yourself and your business:

I am a Holistic Guide who helps people reclaim stuck energy from past experiences and to step into their full power.

I use a variety of techniques including coaching, reiki, movement, massage and shamanic drumming to connect you to your desired outcome. This could be the intention of achieving energy balance, inner peace, strength and healing. Every session is tailored to my clients’ needs. I love this work and feel honoured to be walking this path.

I am based in London primarily however I also travel to Geelong every December and June to host workshops and healings.

How have you incorporated crystals in your work or personal life?

Crystals are a powerful talisman to remind me of my inner power and strength. I intuitively use crystals on my clients’ energy points during healing sessions to enhance their inner strength and power.

What’s your favourite crystal and why?

My favourite crystal is Labradorite. It’s often referred to as the Shaman’s stone and my dear friend gave me a Labradorite crystal ring I adore. It has the spirit of the Crow in it which is my spirit animal. I would love to work with Apophyllite in my healings so I’m calling that in to my reality.
